Alpha Sigma Alpha was founded on November 15, 1901 at
Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia.  It was founded by five extrordinary women:  Louise Cox Carper, Juliette Hundley Gilliam, Mary Williamson Hundley, Virginia Boyd Noell, and Calva Watson Wooton.  Although these five women came from different backgrounds, they all had a common goal:  to start a unique sorority.  A sorority that lets its members keep their individual identity while being part of a sisiterhood.   This is what ALPHA SIGMA ALPHA is all about.  Every member is UNIQUE, and EVERY MEMBER MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

On May 10, 1975, Alpha Sigma Alpha Delta Nu Chapter was founded at GMI Engineering and Management Institute in Flint, Michigan at a school-wide ceremony. That year alone, ASA attained 31 members - 8 members in A-section and 17 members in B-section. Those amazing women started the tradition of ASA on a good note, participating in such Philanthropy events as a Walkathon for Easter Seals, and the BOG Christmas Party for underprivileged children.

Delta Nu-A Chapter is involved in many philanthropic activities as well as social. Every year we participate in the CRIM - Teddy Bear Trot and raise money for the Special Olympics and S. June Smith Center. We expect from all of our members physical, social, spiritual, and intellectual growth.
